About BP Cuff
A blood pressure cuff isa medical device that wraps around your arm to temporarily stop blood flow, allowing a healthcare provider to measure your blood pressure as the cuff deflates.It works as part of asphygmomanometer(a blood pressure monitor) and includes an inflatable bladder and a way to inflate and deflate it.By listening with a stethoscope or using an automated reading, the device measures your systolic (when the sound of blood flow begins) and diastolic (when the sound stops) pressures.
How a blood pressure cuff works

The cuff is wrapped snugly around the bare upper arm, with the arm resting at heart level.

Air is pumped into the cuff, either manually or automatically, until it's tight enough to briefly stop the flow of blood in the brachial artery.
